Pirana was born international in 2006 with offices in Karachi and Dubai. The Founder and CEO Imran Irshad left Saatchi & Saatchi Middle East and formed Pirana along with a few like-minded advertising professionals who were committed to making a difference. He has worked extensively on Pepsi brand and was responsible for Cricket and Music marketing brand and was instrumental in the hugely successful Pepsi Cricket World Cup of 1996 as well as Pepsi Music Marketing efforts in West Asia.
Imran joined the Saatchi & Saatchi network to head the Jeddah office and manage the BIC business initiatives for Procter & Gamble AP business including Olay, Crest, Ariel, Old Spice & Pampers.
He is also part of the MENA business leadership team of Fromageries Bel, France.
A perfectionist by nature, Sabiha has been in the industry for 12 years. She has extensive experience in account management in multinational and local brands including Unilever and Nestle Pakistan
With 7 years at Saatchi & Saatchi and experience working on P&G AP brands (Pampers, Crest and Old Spice). Afzal’s work on Pampers was nominated as BIC in BTL for Pampers CEEMEA, while Pampers in the AP was nominated “Best Baby Care Business” globally.
Afzal carries with him extensive experience in Advertising, Consulting, Shopper Marketing, Digital Marketing, Cause Marketing and Market Entry Strategy development. He has led various successful projects creating new brand concepts and 360 degree marketing plans for clients that have successfully transforming the fortunes of brands and businesses throughout the Pirana network.
Having spanned the world in the capacity of creative director with Ogilvy & Mather, BBDO, McCann Erickson and Saatchi & Saatchi, John has spent equal time involved in both art direction and copywriting. He is has been the creative director on a wide variety of businesses including: Philips Electrical Industries. (TV and sound systems), TMC – Toyota and Lexus, Audi, KLM Airlines, Kiwi/Sarah Lee, P&G (Ariel, Head & Shoulders, Pampers, Safeguard, Old Spice), Nescafe (all brands), Nestle (Maggi food products), Coca-Cola, Australian United Foods (ice cream and dairy products) and Bank of New Zealand.
It was constantly observing and noting how a slight shift in strategy (and resulting concept) could mean the difference between failure and success for an advertiser that drove John to publish the book, ‘How to protect your bottom line from your advertising agency’.
